Workshop mit JIYUN PARK (Braunschweig Projects)
The body is a sound-producing organ; the building, another. When the body is understood as a structure of air, pressure, vibration, tubes, membranes, and resonant space, breath and internal flow become continuous processes of sound and vibration. What kinds of sounds emerge from the body as such a structure?
This perspective extends to architecture. A building is not a fixed mass of materials but a structure that constantly responds to external pressure, movement, and use. Wind, footsteps, pipes, and subtle tremors reveal it as a sensory system in operation. In what ways, then, does a building that breathes, creaks, and vibrates become sound?
This workshop approaches bodies and buildings as distinct yet related structures that generate sound, exploring the sensory relations that emerge between them.
